Part 1: The foundations of the Equity policy are built on sand

The document that is sexually revolutionizing the face of education in this province is called the "Ontario's Equity and Inclusive Education Strategy." It was issued by the Ministry of Education in 2009. School boards know it as Policy/Program Memorandum No. 119, “Development and Implementation of School Board Policies on Antiracism and Ethnocultural Equity”, July 13, 1993. School boards are already implementing this new Equity policy that is supposed to improve student achievement and school climate, but it also attempts to normalize at least ten sexual orientations.

The policy redefines the traditional family and ushers in a curriculum to reshape the dignity and meaning of the human person. Yet, few parents know that this radical ideology was never voted on at Queen's Park. The Liberals have misappropriated their power in a disrespectfully bold move to change the morality of children, to sexualize the school curriculum and to abuse parental rights.

Why the silence in the public square?

This next two paragraphs are not easy to write. The question every Ontarian should be asking during this election is, why isn't this misuse of power an election issue? Why have the mainstream media been relatively silent about all of this? I must also ask and I do so respectfully: why for the most part the all the silent voices of our bishops and priests across this whole province? Is Frances Jacques, principal of St. Joseph's Catholic Secondary School, the only Catholic leader that will say no to gay-straight alliance because responsible educators should realize that teenagers are too young to identify their sexuality?

Parents, in spite of the propaganda that comes from our federal and provincial governments, have never given up their right to educate their children on sexuality and morals. Gay student clubs promoting and normalizing homsexuality is against the teaching of the Catechism. So why are many in the Christian community so afraid to speak up? The only bishop from whom parents heard as they fought to change the Equity policy at the Toronto Catholic District School Board is retired.

Manufacture a false agenda

McGuinty's Liberal government has ushered this homosexual curriculum on children because they must feel they can get away with it. And so far, the strategy is working and innocent children will pay a high emotional, moral, psychological price for our approval through acquiescence. The Equity policy quotes from the Ontario Conference of Catholic Bishops as if they have their support. Pay particular attention to the part of this quotation and remember this is part of the document's argument for why we need this policy in schools:

"Homophobia has risen to the forefront of discussion. Cyberbullying and hate propaganda on the Internet were not issues ten years ago but now are major concerns for parents and students. In recent years, there has been a documented increase in reported incidents of anti-Black racism, antisemitism, and Islamophobia in Canada. Racism, religious intolerance, homophobia, and gender-based violence are still evident in our communities and – unfortunately – in our schools."

The quote goes on to say, "In 2007, the Ontario Conference of Catholic Bishops noted that suicide rates among homosexual students are higher than among their heterosexual peers and called for positive action, reinforcing its earlier statement that 'the right of each student to be free of harassment, violence or malice in speech or action is unequivocal and schools carry the clear obligation to provide a positive school environment for all students and staff' ” (Ontario Conference of Catholic Bishops, 2004, Page 7).

The bishops' position differs from what the Toronto Catholic District School Board (TCDSB) Support Document on the Equity policy says. Here the board reports that there has been no increase in bullying in Catholic schools based on sexual orientation, let alone suicides. Also, carefully observe the language used and you discover that homophobia "has risen to the forefront", but isn't this because the government through the Equity policy and interested groups have made it appear so? Is there any other explanation?

Write a document and suddenly it all sounds and feels so official and right. Wrong. It's just an opinion. Insert in the document a quote from the bishops' statement to make it seem like the Catholic Church agrees. Wrong again. It's just government bureaucrats using deceptive words to try to persuade the rest of us. Even the very word "homophobia" was coined by the psychologist, George Weinberg, to explain the fear heterosexual men felt if others thought they were gay. Isn't that a natural fear? Not after the America Psychiatric Association decided it was no longer a disorder. The word has now been politically hijacked by gay activists and used to intimidate the rest of society. And if this conformity trend continues you can soon be charged with a crime for being homophobic in schools and the rest of our society. I'm serious: it's in Bill 157 and it was passed by the McGuinty Liberals on February 10, 2010.

Spinning ideology into fact by citing UN sources

The Equity Strategy claims there's a need for action because “Inclusive education is central to the achievement of high-quality education for all learners and the development of more inclusive societies. Inclusion is still thought of in some countries as an approach to serving children with disabilities within general educational settings. Internationally, however, it is increasingly seen more broadly as a reform that supports and welcomes diversity amongst all learners.”(UNESCO, Page 6)

UNESCO, United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization, as an agency of the United Nations has nothing to teach parents about children's morality and human sexuality. The UN is the world's biggest exporter of abortion and sexual immorality. They have managed to brainwash most of the world, with taxpayer money, that reproductive rights, that killing babies in the womb, is a human right. By referring to UNESCO, the Ministry tries to hoodwink parents by altering the truth.

Some have said that to talk this way is a form of Taliban Christianity. But by avoiding the truth and embracing a kind of pablum Christianity are we not turning our backs on all the martyrs that paid the ultimate price for our faith with their blood? Does the sacred vision of creation we find in Genesis then become just another story? Do we not see that churches in Canada are being turned into condominiums and art studios? Too often we treat the Catechism as if we were in a cafeteria and somebody else pays for our meal. As a result, we merely select what we want to eat. The Canadian Martyrs didn't live this vision of optional Christianity, and the question to ask is would they recognize the faith in our Catholic schools and our society if they were alive today?

The saints built their spiritual lives on the rock. The Equity policy is another secular strategy to demolish our Christian foundations and re-build them on shifting windblown ideological sand.
