In an earlier entry entitled, The CRTC Should not Approve More Pornography, I urged the Canadian Radio-Television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) to reject the application for Canada’s first porn channel. Regrettably, this hasn’t happened. Instead the CRTC has approved the all-day pornographic channel called Vanessa. Programming will begin in October. There is only one regulation: the channel must make sure there’s "equitable portrayals'' of the sexes and that at least 20 percent of its content is Canadian. So now thanks to the CRTC Canada will have its own porn "stars". We do so much to protect the bottom line, but so little for the heart and soul.

What a sad state of affairs.

At the start of this month of May, I attended the Cenacle of Prayer service held by the Marian Movement of Priests. It's held at Our Lady of Assumption Parish in Toronto. The service consists of the celebration of Mass, confession, praying the Rosary and Eucharistic adoration. While praying I thought of consecrating this humble blog effort of Everyday for Life Canada to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. I shared the idea with Domenic my co-writer and he happily agreed.

The Background

I am a retired teacher with the Toronto Catholic District School Board, (TCDSB). I have taught in three high schools as well as teaching students under the care of the Catholic Children's Aid Society. I never thought for a moment during my entire career that I would find myself in the position of having to defend the Catholic faith and religious freedom in Canada.

A warm welcome to everyone to this blog. This blog is an effort by Lou Iacobelli, a Canadian and father who cares about life, family and Canada. My hope is that you will find this humble media project of evangelization useful. The aim to help educate and activate Christians and all people of good will with the overall goal of restoring Canada to a "culture of life." May you always be encouraged to seek the Truth as the first step in seeking understanding.

See, I have set before you today life and prosperity, death and adversity; I call heaven and earth to witness against you today that I have set before you life and death, blessing and curses. Choose life so that you and your descendants may live.

First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings should be made for everyone, for kings and all who are in high positions, so that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and dignity. This is right and is acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour, who desires everyone to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
