On Thursday, September 29, 2011 a multi-faith, multi-ethnic group held a press conference in Markham. All the participants were given two minutes to speak on the all important issue of protecting parental rights in this provincial election.

Peter Chen, of the Toronto Chinese Catholic Task Force, moderated the meeting, with excellent work from Edwin Lok as MC. The panelist were as follows: Raphael Wu from the Toronto Chinese Catholic Taskforce, Gwen Landolt from Real Women of Canada, Mobeet Khan and Qamrul Khanson from the United Front Canada, Rev. Recently a retired doctor who still belongs to Canadian Physicians for Life asked me if I had heard of a small book titled, The Little Me and THE GREAT ME? I said I hadn't and she gave me her copy while telling me it was one of the best books she had used to teach her patients and her own children about making good choices in life. Have you read or heard of it? It was published in 1957 and written by Lou Austin.

We now know the truth. Read this: “Public and Catholic school board trustees for Your South-Weston agree when it comes to YOUR CHILDREN'S EDUCATION the choice is clear: We endorse Laura Albanese” (Liberal candidate). This quote is from a letter delivered to voters in our ward. The three trustees in question, with photos included, are: Sal Piccininni, Ward 3, and Frank D'Amico, Ward 6, Toronto Catholic District School Board (TCDSB), and Chris Tonks, Ward 6, Toronto District School Board (TDSB).

Dear Editor/Ontarian,

On Tuesday night, September 27, there will be the leaders' debate as we enter the last week of the election. McGuinty has tried to present an image of himself as a leader with experience whose party has achieved results in the economy, education and heath care. No doubt during the debate his advisors will stress that he must "look" to be a leader with commitment, stability and confidence.

The document that is sexually revolutionizing the face of education in this province is called the "Ontario's Equity and Inclusive Education Strategy." It was issued by the Ministry of Education in 2009. School boards know it as Policy/Program Memorandum No. 119, “Development and Implementation of School Board Policies on Antiracism and Ethnocultural Equity”, July 13, 1993.

The process used to pass and implement the Equity policy is not democratic, to let the sexual interests of the few control the morality of the majority cannot be called democracy. Make no mistake, this is an attack on religious freedom, parental rights and the sanctity of life. How else does one explain the fact that Equity education rejects Catholic teaching on morality and human sexuality; the policy makes no room for Catholic accommodation as it redefines marriage and family life.

What is happening to public education is truly frightening. If you visit any school board web site in Ontario you may be surprised to find that the major educational problems in the province and the rest of Canada are homophobia and bullying based on sexual orientation. In Ontario alone, millions of taxpayer dollars have been spent to develop and to implement the Equity and Inclusive Education Strategy.

I’m sure you read the story about a Toronto parent who had to explain to his first-grade son about transgender people, prostitutes, AIDS and female genital mutilation. Those parents who didn't believe how sexually radical the new Equity and Inclusive Education Strategy is, please think again and get informed. We now have proof for all to see.

Just think of the shock for a parent to find this graphic sex material in his son’s Toronto District School Board (TDSB) 2011-12 daily planner.

Dear Readers,

As chairman of The Parental Rights in Education Defense Fund it is not easy for me to write this, but the sad state of education in the province urges me to do so. Together, both morally and legally, we must defend religious freedom and the sanctity of life. For the sake of the children in our schools, I make this appeal.

Try to remember an experience that either did or had the potential to dramatically change your life for the better: a person one meets, a place one visits, a pilgrimage to a holy site, a special piece of music, a profound work art or the incredible wonder and mystery in the birth of a child.

See, I have set before you today life and prosperity, death and adversity; I call heaven and earth to witness against you today that I have set before you life and death, blessing and curses. Choose life so that you and your descendants may live.

First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings should be made for everyone, for kings and all who are in high positions, so that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and dignity. This is right and is acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour, who desires everyone to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
