Nanaimo city council recently voted to reject a group from using their convention centre because, according one councillor Jim Kipp, they were "strongly Christian”. Yes, that's true. In fact, both councillor Fred Pattje described the group as “hateful” and “divisive”. Councillor Bill Bestwick said he wanted to censor the event simply because those involved were Christian. Another councillor Jim Kipp went further by calling the group terrorists and criminals. These councillors talked at their council meeting in this anti-Christian way without even knowing the details of the event. Who gave them permission to be the moral referees for anyone. This sad spectacle is all captured on video.

It's outright discrimination against Christians from the City council of Nanaimo.

In a statement on their website Trinity Western University announced today that the Law Society of New Brunswick has voted in favor of accrediting future graduates from their School of Law. The vote was 14 to 5. The president of Trinity Western Bob Kuhn said,

Have you heard that a school board in Canada wants to get rid of the pronouns he, she, him and her? It’s the Vancouver School Board that is implementing this in order to further update the board's “gender equity” policy. And they are doing it for the most part by violating parental rights.

In July 4, 1980 at the Mass celebrated in the Basilica of Aparecida, saint John Paul II during his apostolic pilgrimage to Brazil gave a homily that is worth remembering. Much of the world is presently focused on the FIFA World Cup 2014. The World Cup of soccer is purportedly about athleticism, entertainment, showcasing great stadiums and fans cheering for their countries. FIFA, the International Federation of Association Football is also advacing a political agenda.

On June the 3rd the Church celebrates the memorial of St. Charles Lawanga and his companions. As it was in the late nineteenth century, today in Uganda there is still persecution of Christians.

In 1880, priests from the Society of the Missionaries of Africa, also known as the White Fathers, went to southern Uganda to evangelize. It was ruled by King Mwanga II. As people converted to the faith, they would in turn evangelize others.

King Mwanga was a violent man and a pedophile.

The Ontario Liberal Party was re-elected last night in with a majority governmet. The Liberals got 39% of the votes, the Progressive Conservatives 31%, the New Democratic Party 24% and the Green Party less than 5%. Just under 2% went to other candidates. Of the total number of 107 seats, the Liberals have 59 seats, the PCs 27 and the NDP 21. So, with less than 39% of all the votes cast in the province, a minority of Ontarians have re-elected the Liberals to a majority government.

At a special meeting, members of the Law Society of B. C. voted this past Tuesday against Trinity Western's proposed Law School to grant law degrees. The final decision will be made by the Law Society's governing 31 benchers. However, this vote by the larger membership will certainly influence the final results. The issue: the majority of the lawyers don't want Trinity Western University to open a Christian Law School, and the best way to stop it is by denying future graduates B.C.

First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings should be made for everyone, for kings and all who are in high positions, so that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and dignity. This is right and is acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour, who desires everyone to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
