It has become public that Simon Fish, Executive Vice-President of the Bank of Montreal, on March 26, 2014, wrote a letter to the Law Society of Upper Canada. The letter had nothing to do with banking. BMO was doing corporate activism in the name of “diversity and inclusivity.” It seems that political correctness has now become the major goal for the bank.

Fish requests for the Law Society to “deny accreditation of any legal education programs, recognized for admission to the bar in Ontario that are discriminatory.” In Fish’s view, Trinity Western University’s graduates should not have the right to practice law in Ontario and the rest of the country.

Why is Fish doing this on behalf of BMO? Because BMO like other corporations have bought fully the idea of political correctness.

This last Sunday we celebrated the Feast Day of Christ the King and this coming Sunday we will begin the First Week of Advent in preparation for Christmas Day. As I said in the last post, I would be spending the time in between these two important liturgical events re-reading, reflecting and praying with the encyclical Quas Primas by Pope Pius XI. And I’m glad I decide to do so.

In a the meeting of cardinals for selecting new cardinals, on November 25, 2012, Pope Benedict XVI gave a wonderful homily to celebrate the end of the Church's liturgial year. Another indispensable document to learn more about the history of this great Feast Day of Our Lord Jeus Christ, King of the Universe is the little known encyclical by Pope Pius XI called, Quas Primas. I'm going to spend the week re-reading this timely and wise document in preparation for the first week of Advent.

A letter, dated Nov. 19, 2014, sent to parents by the Toronto Catholic District School Board's (TCDSB) Director of Education, Angela Gauthier and Chair of the Board, Jo-Ann Davis, informs them that the Ministry of Education plans to consult with parent councils regarding the updated controversial Health and Physical education curriculum. The government intends to implement it for the school year 2015. The letter is obviously written to minimize parental concerns.

I first met Rory when I was still teaching with the Toronto Catholic District School Board. We ran a program for children in crisis. The classroom consisted of a partnership among three groups: TCDSB, Clifton House and the Catholic Children's Aid Society. I was there as the classroom teacher for eleven years. I met between 20 and 30 children every school year.

Don’t get fooled by this new name Action Canada for Sexual Health and Rights  (ACSRH). It's still the same pro-death group and registered as a charitable organization. The Canadian Federation for Sexual Health (formerly Planned Parenthood Canada), Action Canada for Population and Development, and Canadians for Choice have come together under the new title.

A press release by Real Women of Canada on November 11, 2014, asks Ontarians to reject the radical sex education curriculum brought back by the Premier Kathleen Wynne's Liberal government. Everyday for Life Canada wishes to share the statement with its readers because it makes a number of valid points as to why parents should stop the implementation of the explicit curriculum and push back.

Canadian Food for Children has had another successful year with its charitable work to help feed, shelter and clothe the hungry children of the world. The work starts right here in Toronto. In the organization's newsletter of July 7, 2014, reports that the number of shipments made during the current year totaled 219. This was a significant increase from the previous year.

Remembrance Day will now be a national statutory holiday in Canada with the passage of Bill C-597. There will be poppies on countless lapels. Many members of parliament and the Legislative Assembly of Ontario will send messages in publications across the land with the words, “Lest we forget.”

There will be many events to commemorate soldiers who fought in World War I, II, Korea and in more recent wars.

We live in a very radicalized sexual society. The Ontario government wants to bring back for the school year 2015 the explicit sex education curriculum they were forced to drop in 2010 because many people complained about it. Just weeks ago we learned about allegations the CBC host Jian Ghomeshi may have been abusing women for over ten years. Benjamin Levin the former deputy minister of education is facing charges of possessing and accessing child pornography.

See, I have set before you today life and prosperity, death and adversity; I call heaven and earth to witness against you today that I have set before you life and death, blessing and curses. Choose life so that you and your descendants may live.

First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings should be made for everyone, for kings and all who are in high positions, so that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and dignity. This is right and is acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour, who desires everyone to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
