Is it the end of parental rights in Ontario? And Canada?

A courageous Hamilton father, Dr. Steve Tourloukis initiated a lawsuit, in September 2012, against the Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board (HWDSB). The legal action was commenced after the school board refused to give him advance notice of controversial sex ed lessons. He was told both to his face and in writing, that he would not be allowed to withdraw his children from such lessons, even if it undermined his family’s religious beliefs, as practicing Greek Orthodox Christians. One option given to him was to enrol his children in a private school or homeschool them. After years of stall tactics by the school board, the father finally had his court hearing yesterday.

Parental rights and freedom of choice in public education have been under attack in Ontario for years.

Wynne's Liberal government wants to outlaw parental rights in Ontario

We have reached a new low in Ontario when it comes to parental rights and freedom of choice in education. Both the Wynne's Liberal government and the Elementary Teachers' Federation of Ontario (ETFO) have decided to make a case against parental rights. The Attorney General of Ontario intends to argue in court telling a judge to outlaw parental rights in the province. Parents should be outraged.

Cardinal Thomas Collins responds to Canada's legalization of suicide

As of last Friday, euthanasia and physician-assisted suicide became legal in Canada with Bill C-14. The Archbishop of Toronto Cardinal Thomas Collins has responded with a video statement. He begins by referring to an ancient Christian writer who said that there is a great deal of difference between the way of life and of death. Collins tells Canadians that the law is a fundamentally "misguided decision" on the part of the government.

Euthanasia: Canada brings back the death penalty for all citizens

The Gospel reading for this past Sunday, taken from St. Luke (9: 18-24), is very appropriate in view of the fact that Canada as of last Friday has legalized euthanasia and physican-assisted suicide, Bill C-14. The culture of death promoted and defended by the god-state continues to exercise more control on how we're to live and die. It decides whether Canadians, from the unborn child to adulthood, can live or choose to die.

As with the Omnibus Bill of 1969, this legislation is another death blow to morality in Canada. We are severing the very roots of our country, not to mention our Judeo-Christian ancestry. Ontario's new sex curriculum: what students and parents won't be told

A Toronto man may be the first person to have a drug resistant strain of the HIV virus even though he was taking the drug that is supposed to protect against the infection. This is the virus that leads to Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS). Dr. David Knox an HIV-specialist has reported that in one of his patients the virus was stronger than the medication. The patient contacted the virus by having unprotected sex with multiple partners.

On March 4, 2016, in Aden, Yemen, armed ISIS militants made their way into a home for seniors and the disabled. It's a home operated by the Missionaries of Charity, the order founded by Mother Teresa of Calcutta. The attackers killed 16 people including four of the five Catholic sisters working there. The Salesian Fr. Tom Uzhunnalil who was residing in the home was abducted.

The slow death of a shared morality in Canada

The Supreme Court of Canada (SCC) has recently ruled 6-1 that bestiality is acceptable as long as as there's no penetration. Do you remember the president who used the same expression to rationalize adultery? To protect the children, the case refers to a man know only as "D.L.W." from British Columbia. The lower provincial court had convicted him of sexual assault and bestiality.

The homily to help stop the evil of euthanasia in Canada

Justin Trudeau's Liberal government has already passed Bill C-14 in the House of Commons by a vote of 186-137. It's now left to the Senate to debate the legislation and then vote on it. The Senate should vote against it. We urge the senators to please stop Bill C-14. Kill the bill and not Canadians. This totally misguided and unnecessary piece of legislation will make Canadians legal executioners.

The SCC deadline of June the 6th has passed and Canada hasn't come tumbling down

Did you notice all the unnecessary media and government hype about the fact that Bill C-14 the euthanasia and physician assisted death legislation didn't become law by the deadline of June 6th? But who cares? That date is now passed and the Canada is still here. This arbitrary date was established by the Supreme Court of Canada (SCC) when last year it struck down as unconstitutional the country's long standing law against assisted suicide.
