Yesterday, June 26th, Dr. Steve Tourloukis, the courageous Hamilton father was before the Ontario Court of Appeal to defend his parental rights against the Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board. Does the state have the power to overrule parental rights and legally force "inclusive" education in taxpayer funded public schools? The just and right answer is no. True inclusion must welcome those who oppose. Every parent in Ontario and in Canada has the natural and God given right to direct the education of their children.

Before saying anything about the latest proceedings in the courtroom, we want to sincerely thank all the people who have donated money and helped the Parental Rights in Education Defense Fund.

Since 1015, Canada has admitted an increasing number of refugees. Based on information from the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), Canada in just two years has received over 46,000 refugees. To reach that number in the recent history it took forty years.

The refugees are supported by private efforts, church groups and government programs.

City celebrations and schools events for the entire month of June mark Pride festivities here in Toronto and in the rest of the country. Every sexual activity is good and acceptable as long as it stimulates business, satisfies personal needs and brings in lots of money. Pride month, the Dyke march and the gaying of schools are no exception.

This month is also an appropriate time to recall how Canada responded to the papal encyclical issued by Pope Paul VI, on July of 1968, titled Humanae Vitae.

At the annual Spring Dinner on June 19, the Catholic Civil Rights League (CCRL) presented the founder of MaterCare International, Dr. Robert Walley with this year’s Archbishop Adam Exner Award for Catholic Excellence in Public Life.

Newstalk 1010 Radio recently reported that an Ontario high school located in Barrie recalled the student yearbooks because of some student comments. The decision will cost money but also shows how free speech is now restricted by political correctness. The school is Bear Creek Secondary School with an enrolment of 1,500 students. It's part of the Simcoe County District School Board.

The yearbook records school memories and students get to make favourite comments about themselves and others.

Things are getting worse for Christians in Canada. This past week Alberta's Battle River School Division informed the Cornerstone Christian Academy that parts of the Bible can no longer be taught in the school. Why? Because others may find Bible passages offensive. Who will decide what can be and cannot be taught to children? Yes, you guessed it, the school board.

Canada's Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was happy to raise the Pride flag on Parliament Hill yesterday. It was a first in the nation's history. Trudeau was all too happy to acknowledge the work done so that "LGTB Canadians" have equal rights. The rainbow flag was flown to mark the start of Pride Month. June is to celebrate and promote sexual diversity.

However, Trudeau refuses to say a word about the March for Life held every year in Ottawa. The pro-life flag was even outlawed from being flown.

The Ontario English Catholic Teachers' Association (OECTA) will be marching in the Toronto Pride Parade 2017. This is further proof that OECTA has ceased to be a Catholic organization, except for its name. We are grateful to Catholic Intelligence Blog for exposing this deception and following the story. Parents need to be made aware of what is happening because it percolates to the classroom.

The founder and owner of Rebel Media Ezra Levant this past week was regrettably denied his appeal by the Supreme Court of Canada. The appeal was over a defamation ruling by an Ontario court. Khurrum Awan the former youth president of the Canadian Islamic Congress (CIC) took Levant to court for defamation, for calling him an anti-Semite. The Canadian Islamic Congress is an anti-Semitic organization that has pushed for the legalization of terrorist groups like Hamas and Hezbolla.

This month to mark Canada's 150 anniversary, Canada Post will issue a stamp to celebrate the sad fact that same-sex couples since 2005 can legally "marry." But what is legal is not automatically good and morally right. A union of two people is not a marriage.

Canada legalized abortion with the Omnibus Bill of 1969, but the intentional killing of the unborn is still an evil.

See, I have set before you today life and prosperity, death and adversity; I call heaven and earth to witness against you today that I have set before you life and death, blessing and curses. Choose life so that you and your descendants may live.

First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings should be made for everyone, for kings and all who are in high positions, so that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and dignity. This is right and is acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour, who desires everyone to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
