In Canada, we have a Liberal government that refuses to listen to many Canadians. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau came to power in 2015. What has he done? His government has legalized euthanasia and physician-assisted suicide. Trudeau amended the Canadian Human Rights Act and the Criminal Code to legally protect gender expression and gender identity. He has legalized the use of marijuana. Trudeau has made gender analysis and climate change part of his economic platform. The Trudeau government pushes "reproductive rights" both at home and abroad. He has declared Canada to be an open border nation with no real identity. The Trudeau administration is one of the highest spending in Canada's history.

The homily to inspire the young at the World Youth Day 2019

The Archbishop of San Salvador, Oscar Romero was assassinated on March 24, 1980. He was a martyr for the faith. Romero was not afraid to speak out in support of the poor and the marginalized. This made him an enemy of the government-backed death squads. His gave his life for the Gospel. Romero was canonized together with his good friend Pope St. Paul VI, October 14, 2018.

We have been reading this great and instructive book by Fr. William Slattery titltled, Heroism and Genius: How Catholic Priests Helped Build--and Can Help Rebuild--Western Civilization. The text is about the indispensable contributions made by Catholic priests in laying the foundations and the structure of Western civilization. During the provincial election last year you promised to withdraw the radical sex-curriculum introduced by the Wynne Liberal party in 2015. Nearly eight months after your majority election, you have not managed to do so. Sir, you have the overwhelming mandate from Ontarians.

Premier Ford, you also promised to have "a public consultation" about the issue, and that you have managed to accomplish.

Abe Lincoln makes a powerful argument against abortion

Recently, we watched the 1940 movie Abe Lincoln in Illinois. It covers the life and election of the 16th president of the United States back in 1860. At one point, the leading two candidates for the presidency Senator from Illinois Judge Stephen A. Douglas and Mr. Abraham Lincoln debate. Lincoln's rebuttal is in large part a powerful argument about ending slavery. However, his position is just as valid when it comes to protecting the unborn.

Miserere Mei, Deus: the perfect New Year's resolution

One the great acts of contrition is found in King David's Psalm 51. He has been accused of adultery with Bathsheba and attempts to cover it up. He tries to accuse the faithful husband Uriah of deceit and conspiracy. Centuries later a young Catholic priest by the name of Gregorio Allegri, working with the Master Pierluigi da Palestrina, who knew nothing about adultery and murder composes one of the best choral works about the story that the world has ever known: Miserere Mei.

President Trump addresses the March for Life

Yesterday, the annual March for Life was held in Washington D. C. Both President Donald Trump and the Vice President Mike Spence addressed the participants. We can't even imagine our Prime Minister Justin Trudeau doing something like that here in Canada. We sadly have a leader and a Liberal party that will eventually fall because they are on the wrong side of history.

The German government should not deny parents their right to homeschool

Have you heard of the Dirk and Petra Wunderlich family from Germany fighting against their own government for the right to educate their children? Many families in Canada and the United States homeschool. But are you aware of the fact that homeschooling is not permitted in Germany? Yes, German parents can't teach their own children.

Back in 2013, the Wunderlich's four children were forcibly removed from their home by the police and social workers. Just imagine the scene.

Day of prayer for the legal protection of the unborn

This coming January 22, the liturgy for the dioceses of the United States celebrates a Day of Prayer for the Legal Protection of the Unborn. We can do the same in Canada. It's also a day to support the annual March for Life held in Washington D. C. This year it will take place on January 18 and the Vice President Mike Spence that evening will address those attending the pro-life Rose Dinner.
