TCDSB must resist normalizing gender identity
We attended the Toronto Catholic District School Board (TCDSB) meeting last Tuesday night. Most of the speakers that addressed the trustees, were against the idea of adding gender identity to the Board's Code of Conduct. There was just one speaker in favour: the teacher who is pushing for this politically correct change.
The Board's Student Achievement committee is currently considering adding “gender identity,” “gender expression,” “marital status,” and “family status” to its Code of Conduct. Once this "inclusive" language is inserted into policy, it will impossible to defend Catholic teaching. And that's the goal. It has nothing to do with bullying and creating safe schools. We have the Bible, the Catechism and the Ten Commandments to create the safest and best schools.
