Parents, do you have a son or daughter in grade 11 or 12? Have you a granddaughter or grandson in grade 11 or 12? Why not encourage them to participate in the annual Fr. Ted Colleton Scholarship essay? It's a wonderful opportunity to apply writing and thinking skills to make an argument for the protection of human life from conception to natural death. If you're a high school teacher and agree with the topic, let your students know about the contest.

Here are the essay contest denials:

"Niagara Region Right to Life is once again pleased to offer The Father Ted Colleton Scholarship Program by sponsoring an essay contest as part of its mandate to reach out to society in an educational format.

Sadly, the timely message sent by Cardinal Carlo Vigano to the National Catholic Prayer Breakfast was not read at the event held on September 23. We don't why the organizers chose not to read the thoughts of Cardinal Vigano. Why are Catholics censoring their own voices? Shame that they chose to silence the voice of a faithful shepherd at a time of great moral crisis. Surprisingly, it's worth noting that President Donald Trump was one of the speakers. Thank God for that.

In 2015, the Archdiocese of Toronto posted on their website a statement with questions and answers titled, "Frequently Asked Questions: Revisions to Provincial Health and Physical Education Curriculum." The entry was to reassure parents that Catholic schools would teach the new radical sex-curriculum but also defend Catholic education. It would be a lie to say the promise has been kept. Catholic parents have been betrayed.

Dear Pastor,

This past week we got your Robocall message asking us to make a donation to the parish. May we remind you that it was the Archdiocese of Toronto that decided to close parishes for three months because of Covid-19. Since then, the churches have reopened with limited attendance, social distancing and the wearing of masks. If the monthly collection is down, it's not the fault of the community. Don't expect the faithful to donate to a parish that offers very limited services.

One of the important issues which we have been covering in this blog is Ontario's new radical sex-curriculum implemented in public schools, in 2015 and revised in 2019. Under the guise of health and physical education children are now taught about gender identity, sexual orientation and that elementary school children can give consent to sex. In fact, students should make a sexual plan and carry a condom.

Canadians may recall that Fr. Tony Van Hee was arrested, in Ottawa, back in 2018, and charged with breaking the new abortion Bubble Zone Law. The charge against him has not been resolved, and now with Covid-19 it will no doubt take much longer. The virus may delay proceedings for years. So, his constitutional challenge to what amounts to an unjust law has not moved forward. It's a case of justice delayed, justice denied. Fr.

Society has become very sexualized. Children are sexualized in school with sex-"education" curricula. It's called comprehensive sexuality programs. It doesn't take much to connect the dots from radical sex-"education" in public schools to the current Netflik film "Cuties" that celebrates the sexualizing of children. The Canadian national broadcaster the CBC has helped push the idea of the child drag queen with a recent documentary that was essentially advertising the issue.

For today, on the Feast of the Exaltation of the Cross, we post the meditation from the Magnificat. It was written by Thomas Howard who is the author of many books and teacher of literature. He converted to Catholicism. The reflection comes his text, The Night is far Spent, Ignatius Press, 2007.

At the center of Christian vision and imagery stands a great and enigmatic sign, the sign of the cross.

A recent CityNews report features the idea that the Toronto Catholic District School Boars suffers from "systemic homophobia." There is no need for evidence for this claim, except that one activist teacher says so. CityNews accepts it without question. Nobody else is interviewed for the other side of the story. In this post, we are going to tell it.

On November 7, the Board voted to change the Code of Conduct to include gender identity and expression.

Netflix has just released the movie "Cuties." It's anything but cute. The movie peddles the sexualization of children. But don't expect those who produced it to admit that. They argue that its message is needed social commentary. It's not.

Maimouna Doucoure the film's director is a feminist and says that social media isn't friendly to teenagers. In a short video, she argues that teenagers are pushed into having an "ideal body" and a certain "fashion" that they are pressured to adopt.

See, I have set before you today life and prosperity, death and adversity; I call heaven and earth to witness against you today that I have set before you life and death, blessing and curses. Choose life so that you and your descendants may live.

First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings should be made for everyone, for kings and all who are in high positions, so that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and dignity. This is right and is acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour, who desires everyone to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
