This morning Parents as First Educators (PAFE) members are being thanked for the recent "win" at the Halton Catholic District School Board (HCDSB) because the Rainbow flag to promote homosexual pride in all schools will not be flown during the month of June. The fundraising email message reads: "Thank you! You achieved a partial victory in Halton! The good news? Thanks to your hundreds (possibly thousands?) of emails, phone calls, and letters to Halton Trustees, they backed down from their motion to fly the Pride Flags at every school." We disagree with PAFE. It's all bad news, since the entire Board will undergo 2slgbtq sensitivity training. The trustees didn't back down. They instead gave away the store. There is no good news for Catholic education in Halton.

The Halton Catholic District School Board (HCDSB) last week delayed voting on a motion to fly the rainbow flag in support of homosexual pride in all schools during the month of June. During the meeting there were five presentations made before the trustees: three backed the motion and two were against. The two speakers who against raising the pride flag were parish priest Fr. Janusz Roginski, pastor of St. Gabriel Church in Burlington, and a father with four children enrolled in HCDSB schools.

The Liberal federal government continues to spend and spend as if there's no tomorrow, but working Canadians are getting poorer and poorer. The huge accumulated pandemic debt will be there for generations to come. It will be there long after the pandemic is gone. Politicians don't even talk about what the nation owes.

Today the Church liturgy celebrates Good Shepherd Sunday. It's a very sad reminder of the colossal failure of the Church's shepherds to be a global witness for religious freedom, and the dignity and sanctity of human life. The shepherds, with few exceptions, have not been listening to the Word but to Caesar. They have capitualted to the temporal, not the eternal.

The Toronto Catholic teachers' union president Pete McKay, who represents the Ontario English Catholic Teachers' Association, is pushing trustees and the director of the Toronto Catholic District School Board to recognize June as pride month. Celebrating the Sacred Heart of Jesus is not progressive and inclusive enough. McKay doesn't need permission from parents. He is openly instructing Catholic trustees and the director about what they must do.

Have you heard of Pflag? The acronym stands for Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays. Their Canadian website says this about them:

Pflag Canada is a national charitable organization, founded by parents who wished to help themselves and their family members understand and accept their LGBTQ2S children. The “coming-out” process can be a critical time for families.

Canadians get the Covid facts don't be paralyzed by fear and confusion. Here's how to respond in case you get stopped at a police checkpoint. The draconian pandemic measures, which violate religious freedom and civil liberties by the federal and provincial governments, will not end until citizens stand up for their rights.

There is lots of confusing information about the pandemic and the vaccines. We urge our readers to visit the website No Jab for Me, and get the facts needed to make sensible decisions. We cannot rely on the mainstream media and governments alone. We quote the first five points from the No Jab for Me posting. The entire statement needs to read and passed to others.

The Halton Catholic District School Board (HCDSB) will vote on a motion tonight whether to fly the rainbow flag to recognize homosexual pride and the upcoming month of June. But why bother? It's a done deal. The vote is sure to be a yes. What other outcome can we expect when Bishop Douglas Crosby who heads the Diocese of Hamilton gives his unofficial approval of the motion. Consider it official.

At the funeral service of Prince Philip, Duke Of Edinburgh who died at Windsor Castle on 9 April 2021, the wonderful patriotic song called, "I Vow to Thee, My Country" was part of the music. The original words were written by Sir Cecil Spring Rice and called, Urbs Dei, the City of God. The song celebrates the Christian duty to two Fatherlands: to God and nation. One is temporal, and the more important is the eternal.

See, I have set before you today life and prosperity, death and adversity; I call heaven and earth to witness against you today that I have set before you life and death, blessing and curses. Choose life so that you and your descendants may live.

First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings should be made for everyone, for kings and all who are in high positions, so that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and dignity. This is right and is acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour, who desires everyone to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
