Parents, how would you react if your child's teacher instructs the children that Canadian society is built on "racism"? And those responsible for the "racism" are all the white children in the school, and the adult white people? This is not an exaggeration. This teaching comes from critical race theory which the woke people mask as social justice, as equity education and is quickly becoming part of the latest anti-racist resources used in Canadian and American classrooms. It has nothing to do with justice and building the common good. It's about making children feel guilty by indoctrinating them that they're the reason for the problem. Racism is everywhere. White privilege is the reason.

Parents may believe that these ideas are too absurd and radical to be taught to children. Think again.

Dear Teachers,

These are very difficult times for teachers. The pandemic has changed the classroom. It has made teaching and learning more challenging. There are also political issues of critical race theory, equity and inclusive education and social justice. The Catholic teacher unions are no longer Catholic. So, it's not easy to be a good and faithful Catholic teacher presently. But with faith, there is always much hope and so we must soldier on.

The Code of Canon Law, sets out Church regulations which govern all Catholic institutions, including Catholic schools. In this post, we wish to bring to the attention of parents what the Church teaches about the Catholic school, the duties of parents and the responsibility of school administrators and representatives of the local Church.

Flying the pride flag and celebrating this June sexual orientation month in Ontario's Catholic schools can be linked to every religious course offered from Grades 1-12. Let's go back nearly ten years. At the time, we expressed our concerns about gender identity, student led gay/straight alliances and sexual orientation, to the Archdiocese of Toronto. We were told that this would not be taught in Catholic schools. Well, it's now here in a big way.

The activists at the Toronto Catholic District School Board have already begun to push the celebration of pride month and the flying of the homosexual pride flag. It has started with Superintendent of Education Derek Chen who has the title of Equity, Diversity, Indigenous Education, and Community Relations.

Today, Joseph Volpe, publisher of the Corriere Canadese, the Italian daily newspaper, writes another solid editorial titled, "Who in heck is running this place?", to defend Catholic education, and the right Catholics have to administer their own schools. Let me say again and again, Mr. Volpe has been doing the work that should have be done by Catholic leaders at the Board, the Cardinal, the teacher unions, the trustees and the Catholic Register. What a scandal.

On May 6, the Toronto Catholic District School Board (TCDSB) trustees voted (8 to 4) to fly the homosexual pride flag and celebrate June as pride month at its head office, the Catholic Education Centre and at all our schools. It was director Brendan Browne who told the trustees that the issue was a priority. He made it clear that the 2slgtbq+ Advisory Committee recommendations were the central item on the agenda: fly the rainbow flag and celebrate pride month......

Grade 9 students attending schools run by the Toronto Catholic District School Board will be asked on June1, 2021, to complete a Student Census called, "We Belong, We Believe, We Become." It's a pilot project to collect student information. It may sound like a good idea, but it's not.

The stated purpose is of the Census is twofold:

"There is the Sacred Heart a symbol and a sensible image of the infinite love of Jesus Christ which moves us to love one another, therefore is it fit and proper that we should consecrate ourselves to His most Sacred Heart-an act which is nothing else than an offering and a binding of oneself to Jesus Christ, seeing that whatever honor, veneration and love is given to this divine Heart is really and truly given to Christ Himself." These are still wise words from Pope Leo XIII's encyclical, Annum

See, I have set before you today life and prosperity, death and adversity; I call heaven and earth to witness against you today that I have set before you life and death, blessing and curses. Choose life so that you and your descendants may live.

First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings should be made for everyone, for kings and all who are in high positions, so that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and dignity. This is right and is acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour, who desires everyone to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
