Nancy Pelosi, the Democrat United States Speaker of the House of Representatives strongly criticized the June 24 Supreme Court decision to overturn Roe v. Wade. She called the ruling “extremist,” and wrote a letter to other members of the House of Representatives in response. The high court has merely sent the abortion question to be answered by the individual states. There was never a  constitutional “right” to abortion. Here's Pelosi's message:

Dear Democratic Colleague,

This weekend, the American people spoke out in person and in large numbers about their opposition to the Supreme Court’s disrespect for a woman’s freedom over her reproductive health.

On October 24, Ontario will hold Municipal Elections. Voters will elect public and separate school trustees. Catholic parents must send a message to trustees: focus on student learning, faith development and safety, not politics. And elect people who aren’t afraid to defend and promote the faith. Enough of the political correctness and aggressive secularism. It's time for parents to reclaim their schools.

Have you heard of Canadian James Topp? If not, all Canadians who care about freedom and democracy should get to know him. Here's why. Topp has been a soldier with the Canadian Armed Forces for 28 years. He doesn't want to lose his job because of "vaccine" mandates. So, he decided to protest the forced, experimental and unnecessary government shot by marching from Vancouver to Ottawa.

To celebrate the momentous undoing of the 1973 terrible court decision, Roe v. Wade by the United States Supreme Court, we post the speech given on May 25, 2000, by Pope John Paul II to the new ambassador of New Zealand to the Holy See. Since abortion became law, tens of millions of unborn children in United States alone have been killed through legalized abortion. Abortion isn't a right, no matter who says it. Pope John Paul reminds us of God's call to defend life, family and truth.

The Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms awarded Tamara Lich the 2022 George Jonas Freedom Award at a sold-out gala in Toronto. She was given the award for her active roll in the Truckers Freedom Convoy this past winter. In the words of the JCCF, “Ms. Lich inspired Canadians to exercise their Charter rights and freedoms by participating actively in the democratic process, and took the initiative to help organize a peaceful protest and serve as one of its leaders.

There was a time when at the end of the school year students were given prizes for academic, athletic, musical and artistic achievements. Students simply graduated from Grade 8 or high school because they met or exceeded the academic requirements of the school program. The focus was primarily on student learning and character development. Schools focused on teaching reading, writing, arithmetic and thinking skills.

Not any more.

On May 4, 2021, the Archdiocese of Toronto released an ecclesial statement regarding equity and inclusive education in Catholic schools. Parents with children in separate schools in Ontario must know that most boards have declared June as pride month. Schools and board offices are flying the rainbow flag and activities are taking place to celebrate the event.

Bishop Robert J. McManus of the Diocese of Worcester has released a decree to announce that one of the schools can no longer call itself Catholic.

Toronto Catholic District School Board, TCDSB, Teacher Paolo De Buono is Tweeting about his petition to have the Government of Canada change the Constitution Act and take away denominational rights. He also wants the Ontario Government to end public funding of Catholic schools. He does this while he works for a Catholic board and collects a generous six figure salary and benefits.

A recent study by Jay P. Greene, a senior research fellow in The Heritage Foundation’s Center for Education Policy, should concern parents and anyone who is pushing cross-sex hormones to gender confused young people. The study is titled, "Puberty Blockers, Cross-Sex Hormones, and Youth Suicide." What Greene finds is that easy access to puberty blockers and hormones hasn't reduced the suicidal risk but, in fact, increased it.

First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings should be made for everyone, for kings and all who are in high positions, so that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and dignity. This is right and is acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour, who desires everyone to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
