In the rush to make Canada's history woke, we're getting it all wrong.  A good example of this was the renaming of Ryerson University to Toronto Metropolitan University. The board of directors approved the change because the name Egerton Roberson was connected to Canada's residential schools. Ryerson was a central figure in developing the public school system, as well as the teachers' College in Canada.

The name change was one of the 22 recommendations made by the university's Standing Strong (Mash Koh Wee Kah Pooh Win) Task Force. The large statue of Ryerson that stood on the campus was vandalized and eventually toppled in 2020. This happened when the MSM news was filled with reports about unmarked grave sites on the grounds of former residential schools.

Principal Anthony Pauk and teachers at St. Denis Catholic School in Toronto aren't waiting for the month of June to begin brainwashing the children with "rainbow" sprinkles and the sexual letters of the alphabet. Pride celebrations will start May 31th.

Pauk will give a talk to the children at a morning assembly. There will be a slide presentation and a play based on the book, Except When They Don’t.

As we get closer to the month of June, we share with our readers the Novena to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. It's the prayer that Padre Pio (Italian for 'Father Pius') of Pietrelcina recited for all those who requested his prayers. St. Margaret Mary has been given credit for writing it.

Novena (prayed for nine consecutive days) to the Sacred Heart of Jesus

I. O my Jesus, you have said: 'Truly I say to you, ask and you will receive, seek and you will find, knock and it will be opened to you.

As we begin the month of June, it's a good time for parents to inform or remind the principal and teacher of the school that they want to exempt their children from the Human Development and Sexual Heath expectation for the child's grade. The sex-curriculum is a component, Section D, of the Ontario Health and Physical Education program, for Grades 1-8.

In too many cases, under the topic of "sex-education" children have been exposed to porn and immoral sex acts.

The United States commemorates Memorial Day today May 27th. Most Americans will take a moment to remember and honour the many service men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice “for love of country and family, preservation of peace, and defence of the American people” in the nation’s history. It's a day to reflect on the high human price that is paid to protect freedom, family and country.

As we get closer to the month of June, we post with permission a great article by Josie Luetkie titled, "Behind the Flag.” It comes from the pro-life publication The Interim.

My anonymous Twitter troll has seemingly finally moved onto bigger and better things (knock on wood), but in the past, (presumably) he would repeatedly demand I educate myself on the history of the pride flag – originally the gay pride flag. I recently declined to attend an alumni event at my alma mater, St.

From St. James 1:5-6:

Come now, you rich, weep and howl for the miseries that are coming upon you. Your riches have rotted and your garments are moth-eaten. Your gold and silver have rusted, and their rust will be evidence against you and will eat your flesh like fire. You have laid up treasure for the last days. Behold, the wages of the laborers who mowed your fields, which you kept back by fraud, cry out; and the cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord of hosts.

We post today the latest message sent to all Toronto Catholic District School Board trustees and administrators by the Toronto Elementary Catholic Teachers' union. It's an invitation for teachers and staff to join the June 30th pride parade to support and embrace the 2slgbtqi+ students. Here's the message from Deborah Karam, president of TECT.

It's now three weeks that a pro-Palestine demonstrations has taken over part of the University of Toronto. They refer to themselves as Occupy for Palestine. Some of the protesters are staff and students of U of T but most of them are not.

The same kind of occupation is taking place in other universities across Canada. Their demand is for universities to stop investing in Israel and cut ties with Israeli academics.

This is the spiritually insightful essay for Pentecost by Anne Burleigh from the May issue of the Magnificat.

The Lord loves to reveal himself in fire. Amid rushing wind and fire, he spoke to Moses from the flaming bush. On the day of Pentecost, fifty days after Passover, the disciples sat waiting— expectant, alert—in the Upper Room. And the Lord came again amid rushing wind and fire—this time as flaming tongues alighting on each one.

See, I have set before you today life and prosperity, death and adversity; I call heaven and earth to witness against you today that I have set before you life and death, blessing and curses. Choose life so that you and your descendants may live.

First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings should be made for everyone, for kings and all who are in high positions, so that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and dignity. This is right and is acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour, who desires everyone to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
