There is an important legal challenge, in Canada, filed by the Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms. Don't expect the MSM to cover the story. Presently, Canada has no active government. The government was prorogued (dissolved) on January 6, 2025. Was it legal for PM Justin Trudeau to freeze Parliament? The JCCF,  on behalf of all Canadians,  wants the Supreme Court of Canada to rule on whether the Liberal government's decision to shut down Parliament was legal.

Trudeau has finally resigned and at the same time decided to close the working of government. He did this just as U.S. President Donald Trump threatened Canada with 25% tariffs on Canadian products and for Canada to become the 51st state. As always, Trudeau is more interested in his personal affairs and perhaps in the selection of a new leader for the Liberal Party, than he is about Canada and its future. But self-interest has never stopped him before and is Trudeau at his best.

Here's the information about the court case from the JCCF website:

The Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms announces that Chief Justice Paul S. Crampton has granted the applicants’ motion for an expedited hearing in the legal challenge to the Prime Minister’s decision to advise the Governor General of Canada to prorogue Parliament until March 24, 2025.
On January 6, Prime Minister Trudeau announced the decision to advise the Governor General to prorogue (shut down) Parliament for eleven weeks.
This decision followed remarks from President-elect Trump that he intended to impose 25 percent tariffs on all imports to the United States. On January 7, 2025, President-elect Trump further stated that his administration would consider the use of “economic force” to annex Canada.
On January 7, lawyers acting on behalf of Nova Scotians David MacKinnon and Aris Lavranos filed a Federal Court challenge to the decision to prorogue Parliament, citing concerns about the negative impacts of that decision on democracy, the rule of law, and the ability of Parliament to respond to “the grave challenge” of President-elect Trump’s foreign policy.

Their application requested an order setting aside the decision to prorogue Parliament and a declaration that this session of Parliament had not been prorogued.

On January 9, the applicants’ lawyers submitted a motion for an expedited hearing to the Federal Court. In their motion for an expedited hearing, the applicants expressed that the decision of the Prime Minister presented an intolerable harm to democracy, our Parliamentary system, and the rule of law during a time when Canada faces a grave threat.
On January 13, the Crown stated that it did not consider the matter urgent and did not consent to an expedited hearing.
However, Chief Justice Paul S. Crampton of the Federal Court granted the motion for an expedited hearing today, January 18.
In his reasons, Chief Justice Crampton stated, “If the underlying Application is not scheduled to be heard on an expedited basis, there will be no opportunity for Canada’s elected representatives to debate this serious threat [of 25 percent tariffs] and take any action that they may consider appropriate for over two months following President-elect Trump’s assumption of office.”
Chief Justice Crampton further stated that the possibility of the Federal Court hearing the applicants’ case after Parliament resumes would deprive the applicants of access to justice.
In his conclusion, Chief Justice Crampton decided, “In brief, the factors that weigh in favour of expediting the hearing of the underlying Application include the urgency of the matter, the fact that the core relief sought will become moot if the Court’s standard timelines are not abridged, and the public interest in having the serious issues raised in the Application determined as expeditiously as possible.”
The hearing on the legal challenge to the decision to prorogue Parliament will occur in Ottawa on February 13 and 14, 2025.
Constitutional lawyer Andre Memauri, co-counsel on the matter, stated, “We are very pleased with Chief Justice Crampton’s decision and the Court’s indulgence to expedite this very important matter for Canada’s democracy at a critical time.”
Mr. Memauri further concluded, “Parliament’s ability to oversee the Federal Government is serious and important to all Canadians, and we appreciate that the Court has preserved this potential outcome in its decision today.”

A "study" has been released by the Network Contagion Research Institute (NCRI) making the claim that the phrase "Christ the King" is being used by some "extremists" as "hate speech" and to fuel "antisemitism".

The publication is titled, “Thy Name in Vain: How Online Extremists Hijacked ‘Christ is King’". The aim of NCRI is to uncover "the spread of hostile ideological content” online and “identify and forecast cyber-social threats.”

But who decides that anyone using a word, expression or the phrase "Christ is King" ought to be accused of spreading "hostile ideological content" and possibly be censored? The report claims the phrase has been weaponized by people like Candace Owens, Jack Posobiec and Nick Fuentes.

Introduction

Fasting can be easy, but sticking your neck out in solidarity and taking time away from other things are definitely the proving grounds. Certainly not everyone can go on missions or volunteer projects, but all of us know at least one person who might need care, attention, a ready smile and a kind word.

The arrogant PM Justin Trudeau has resigned, and the new leader Mark Carney is yet to become the new prime minister. Trudeau has shut down Parliament for over 2 months, but this has not stopped the Liberals from spending (wasting) tax dollars Canada doesn’t have.

Ahmed Hussen, Minister of International Development, just announced $272.1 million in new funding for 14 projects in Bangladesh and the Indo-Pacific region.

Mark Carney is the new Liberal Party leader to replace Justin Trudeau. He will be sworn in as PM tomorrow. Carney made it clear in his victory speech that the enemy of Canada is Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre and President Donald Trump. It took the Trump threat of tariffs for the Liberal party to suddenly discover the value of defending Canada. It was Trudeau who claimed Canada was a post-nation state with no core values, and that he admired China.

Theophilus of Alexandra, Easter Letter

Introduction

Preparing for Easter means preparing for a great feast, the most important one of the liturgical year. Joy becomes the adornment of our hearts, which reach out toward the divine while resting on earth. Good habits must be ready to go for the feast.

The Liberal Party has elected Mark Carney as their new leader to replace PM Justin Trudeau who resigned. In his speech after his victory, Carney had all good things to say about the Liberal party and the outgoing prime minister. It was all Liberal cheers, smiles and applause. Carney who has never been elected to any political position could now become Canada's prime minister.

Carney said he will follow the example set by Trudeau to unite Canada and fight against the American tariffs.

St. Leo the Great, Sermon, 21, 3

Introduction

It's nice to feel loved in spite of ourselves and in spite of everything. God loves us above all things, and his embrace is all-encompassing. Feeling loved stirs up love; it is an awareness that God calls each of us to recognize the uniqueness of every person, to rediscover our dignity, and to acknowledge the need for daily conversion.

First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings should be made for everyone, for kings and all who are in high positions, so that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and dignity. This is right and is acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour, who desires everyone to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
